In an alliance contract with Water Corporation, known as The Stirling Alliance, DM Civil were responsible for the installation of 19.3km of 1400mm diameter underground pipeline through a variety of terrain. Environmental management was paramount to protect local flora and fauna and ensure successful rehabilitation of cleared areas. The enormous success of this project saw the Alliance awarded the 2000 WA and National Overall Case Earth Awards and the Institute of Engineers Australia Management of Engineering Award.
Another notable project was the construction of the Perth Desalination Integration DN1200 trunk main. Our construction crews on this 9.64km pipeline overcame various challenges including 19 crossings of high-pressure gas mains and oil pipelines and high voltage overhead transmission lines. A portion of the pipe route was through the Naval Base industrial area, requiring extensive planning, communication and cooperation with local businesses to ensure that their daily work activities and access were not affected.
